Cheshire West and Chester Council’s archaeologists, in partnership with the University of Chester, run a training excavation each May for the University’s archaeology students in the beautiful and historic surroundings of Grosvenor Park, Chester. Come and see what the archaeologists have been finding since their work began in 2007. There will be finds displays and information about the discoveries – a Roman road, a medieval stone building and lots more – plus information about local archaeology. There will also be a chance meet the PAS Finds Liaison Officer for Cheshire and to talk to local archaeologists about their work and discoveries.
Our Activity Zone is a stunning community building in the heart of the park, offering an array of activities throughout the year from, poetry classes and craft workshops to song writing and Tai Chi.
The full programme of small scale events and activities will be coming online in Spring 2017.
