Events
Open Air Theatre
A relaxed and intimate venue with a capacity of 500, the season runs from July-August each year with live major adaptations of children’s stories and Shakespeare classics performed in the round.
Deva Triathlon
The Deva Triathlon is an Olympic and Middle distance triathlon held in the centre of Chester and Grosvenor Park plays a significant part in triathlon as it is the venue for the Transition area from swimming to cycling. The park draws a large crowd every year to cheer on competitors in this challenging contest.
The triathlon is currently in its 19th year and is run by Chester Triathlon Club members.
Festival of Archaeology 2019: Discoveries in Grosvenor Park, Chester
25 July, 1pm – 5pm in the Activity Hut, Grosvenor Park, Chester
Cheshire West and Chester Council’s archaeologists, in partnership with the University of Chester, run a training excavation each May for the University’s archaeology students in the beautiful and historic surroundings of Grosvenor Park, Chester. Come and see what the archaeologists have been finding since their work began in 2007. There will be finds displays and information about the discoveries – a Roman road, a medieval stone building and lots more – plus information about local archaeology. There will also be a chance meet the PAS Finds Liaison Officer for Cheshire and to talk to local archaeologists about their work and discoveries.

Activity Zone
Our Activity Zone is a stunning community building in the heart of the park, offering an array of activities throughout the year from, poetry classes and craft workshops to song writing and Tai Chi.
The full programme of small scale events and activities will be coming online in Spring 2017.
