What’s on

The park has become the focus for two significant and large scale events in the city, the award-winning Open Air Theatre and the Deva Triathlon.

In addition the park continues to retain its peaceful character and charm with visitors who wish to enjoy more informal activities.

Open Air Theatre

Grosvenor Park is the venue for the award-winning Open Air Theatre produced by Story House, the only full time professional open air theatre company outside of London, boasting some of the country’s most respected directors, designers and actors.

A relaxed and intimate venue with a capacity of 500, the season runs from July-August each year with live major adaptations of children’s stories and Shakespeare classics performed in the round.

Deva Triathlon

The Deva Triathlon is an Olympic and Middle distance triathlon held in the centre of Chester and Grosvenor Park plays a significant part in triathlon as it is the venue for the Transition area from swimming to cycling. The park draws a large crowd every year to cheer on competitors in this challenging contest.

The triathlon is currently in its 19th year and is run by Chester Triathlon Club members.
